EARLY LIFE AND EDUCATION Capt Vijayant Thapar was born on 26 Dec 1976 in a military family to Colonel V N Thapar and Mrs Tripta Thapar.  At the time of his birth his father was posted in Pathankot with an armoured brigade and so his name was kept 'VIJAYANT' the main battle tank of the army. Early Life and Education Ian Cardozo was born to Vincent Cardozo and Diana Cardozo in 1937 in Bombay,British India . He studied at St Xaviers college mumbai and has cleared his NDA exam to get commissioned into Indian Army . In the early days of May 1999, after patrols sent in the mountains disappeared indicating something was amiss, the 18th Grenadiers was pulled from the counter insurgency grid in the Valley and ordered to evict the intruders. The initial briefing by the commander of Kargil based 121 Brigade was that there were no more than 8 ƒ?? 10 infiltrators on the tops.
